Ravelers are the best......

I was able to find (on Ravelry) some more of the yarn for my snuggle sack.
Today was a lazy day for me....pretty much all I've done is shower, start dinner in the crock pot & knit. I'm trying a new recipe out tonight & man does it ever smell good! It's called Moroccan Lentil Soup - the recipe can be found here . Homemade bread to go with..... yumm!
No pics today but I am almost done with a hat for the other March baby so hopefully I'll have FO pics tomorrow

Packages

I have a package ready to take to the post office.... 1 more to go & I'm ready to go. As some of you may know I send items to a reservation in California. 1 of my best friends is a member of the tribe & her mom still lives there working in the health clinic so we send items to her & she gets them to the people who need them. Here are pics of what's in her box:

5 pairs of pajamas, 1 hat, 6 pairs of mittens, 4 pairs of gloves, 2 hand knit baby hats & 6 pairs of socks

Now if only I can get my butt in gear to get the last package put together.....

Outdoor Adventures

Sunday the weather here was too beautiful to stay inside so we decided to go on an outing. Hubby picked Roaring Run as our destination. If you live close enough that you can  easily visit then I highly suggest you do so. Trust me you won't regret it. Here are some pics I took while there: roaring run pics
Monday the UPS man became my favorite person ever! Ok so he was just doing his job but hey when a man does a job well you compliment him right? :D
So here's what he brought me:

That's right my Namaste bag!!! *squee* I have wanted one for awhile now .... totally worth the wait.

And because not every post can be all good news.....today I ran out of yarn while knitting on the baby snuggle sack and Michaels no longer carries that yarn in that color :(
So since I'm outta luck this time I'll frog it & just make some baby hats for the reservation with that yarn & go ahead & send what I have already for this baby. Pics to come tomorrow when I package up the items & head to the post office

Better Late Than Never.....

Wednesday was a really good day here....not sure why I'm just now blogging about it on Sunday but as the saying goes..... "stuff happens".  Anyhow the best thing about it was the weather - it was such a gorgeous day! The sun was shining, the temp was almost warm & there was a nice breeze blowing. This caused 2 things to be possible..... 1) I was able to hang laundry out again - I love the smell of sun dried laundry plus I like knowing I'm not wasting electricity running the dryer. & 2) I was able to go sit outside for a little while. For those who know me you know one of my favorite pastimes is sitting in my backyard under my little tree with my netbook & my knitting :)
Also Wed the mailman was extra good to me.....he brought me a package from a friend & no bills!! So here are pics of the contents of my package:

whoppers candy, book darts, a super cute dog christmas tree ornament  & stitch markers! All packaged in a cute tin with a bear on it. Thanks D!!

Wed was also when I did something I've never done before..... I made my very first loaf of homemade bread! Not a box mix but from scratch :O
And it was delicious! Youngest kiddo asked me if he could have more after dinner  for dessert. This is such a super simple recipe too.  Artisan-Bread-In-Five-Minutes-A-Day  Here's some pics of my adventure:

mix all the ingredients together, let it rise & start to fall back down (2-3 hours), then grab a grapefruit sized hunk out, let sit on counter for about 30 min then  put it in the oven at 450 for 30 min & voila!
Ok so my loaf looks a bit weird but I made it myself & it tasted awesome so I'm not too worried about the look of it.
And last but not least here's a pic of the baby hats I've gotten done so far....working on the snuggle sack still but it's about halfway done.

Thanks Zeus for being such a good boy & letting me use him as a place to set things to photograph them :)
